This marked a successful debut for new head coach CJ Fleming. The game took a dramatic turn as Brycen Allen's crucial layup with just 15 seconds left on the clock secured the victory, with a strong defensive effort ensuring Fairmont was unable to respond in the final seconds. Senior player Johnson had an outstanding performance, leading the scoring with 26 points, while Jacob Lubinski also contributed significantly with 13 points. The Comets, starting their season at 1-0, are set to play against St. Xavier on Tuesday, December 2nd.

After three quarters of play the Comets found themselves in a 21-14 deficit. The fourth quarter was a different story. Mason outscored Oak Hills 15-8 to send the game to overtime where the Comets outlasted the Highlanders to earn another big GMC win. Brycen Johnson led Mason with 17 points and Sid Wortham added 16. The Comets (6-0, 4-0) stay on the road on Friday at Sycamore. |
